J. Sargent “Sarge” Slicer

Sarge Slicer started his P/R career when he was initiated into Company A-12 (Northeastern University) in the fall of 1962. He was on the IDR and trick drill teams. He moved onto 12 Regimental staff and became Regimental Commander in the fall of 1966. In 1967 he received the Regimental Commanders award. He graduated in 1967 with a BSEE and as a Second Lieutenant in the Signal Corps.

His army career started at Fort Gordon, GA for basic training then to Fort Monmouth, NJ for Officer Basic Signal training. In 1968-69 he was served in Korea in the 51st Signal Battalion as Executive Office of Company B and then Commanding Officer of Company A. Following Korea, he when back to Fort Monmouth and served as Instructor/Section Leader in the Office Basic Signal School and there he was promoted to Captain.

In 1971 he left the service to become a fire protection engineer a career which he continues today. He currently is President of Slicer and Associates a fire protection and loss prevention consulting company.

He joined the NSPRAA in 2017 and became comptroller in October 2020.
