We know that you want to help your Fraternal Society.  We also know that sometimes, life gets in the way.  As such, we often have staff members and committee members that must for one reason or another, step back from the great work that they were providing our Family.

The Position descriptions below are for some of the National Staff positions that from time to time, we need volunteers to assist with.  While all positions may not yet be listed, this will provide you an idea of some of the work that might be associated with a particular position.

ADMINISTRATION

Administrative Assistant – Reporting to the V.P.-Admin & Finance, this P/R coordinates administrative actions, assists in the development of Policy, manages and handles official correspondence, and assists with other administrative tasks.  Apply by sending an email  with your qualifications to nspraa@pershingriflesalumni.org

 

Logistics Assistant – Reporting to the V.P.-Admin & Finance, this P/R is in charge of securing and maintaining supplies and resources needed for day-to-day operations and special events. Often works with PRG Logistics Manager in the assembly and mailing of NSPRAA new membership packets and the facilitation of mailing new member materials. Logistics Assistant – Brand & Vendor Manager

Postion Description:

Falling under the Operations Office, this position is responsible for the areas of Brand Management and Vendor Management.  Acting as the official “Keeper of the Brand” for NSPR, NSPRAA, PRG, and Blackjack Brand issues, they will assist in development and modification of policy, and track compliance with Brand and Vendor Policy.  They are responsible for soliciting and cultivating relationships with vendors who will bring positive energy and products to our membership.  This position will work with PRG in drafting/tailoring the base contract with external vendors, and will act as the single point of accountability for internal and external vending partners, managing and overseeing the Vendor licensing program.

This Position is empowered to develop staff as needed to successfully achieve the desired end state of control of the NSPR, NSPRAA, PRG, and BlackJack logos, and compliance with contractual agreements. Some of the responsibilities are:

  • Research, evaluate and identify viable vendor partners.
  • Help coordinate, and formulate workflow processes, methods, procedures and policies for applying vendors and for approvals of those vendors.
  • Coordinate all vendor management tasks inclusive of working with external vendors, the NSPAA Logistics Officer, and the PRG Store
  • Coordinate for all contracts to be reviewed by PRG Legal
  • Track their approvals and expiration dates, and renew or prohibit renewal in accordance with NSPRAA Policies..
  • Ensure tracking, of complaints regarding Vendors, report and evaluate vendor performance.
  • Monitor contractual agreements for all approved vendors to ensure adherence to Brand Policy, and terms of their licensing, Troubleshoot all vendor problems and present to management as required.
  • Support expansion across new business lines

 

Comptroller/Finance Officer – Reporting to the V.P.-Admin & Finance, this P/R serves as the NSPRAA Comptroller, and specifically focuses on the creation and management of the Budget, the management and maintenance of financial payment channels, the collection, review, and disbursement of funds, and Reports and Audits.  Works with PRG Finance to ensure reimbursements and invoices are paid.  Army Finance Officers and accountants may be well suited for this position.  Apply by sending an email with your qualifications to nspraa@pershingriflesalumni.org

 

MEMBERSHIP

Membership Director  – Reporting to the V.P.- Administration, and the President,  this P/R is a highly self-motivated and creative team player that will help establish and implement a broad-based membership program, complete with projects and activities, to convert graduate members of the Society into NSPRAA members, driving membership growth while supporting member retention.  The Membership Director:

  • Establishes, plans and implements strategies to meet membership growth goals.
  • Establishes metrics to help determine success of program.
  • Maintains the database of brothers both prospects and paid. Actively solicits organizations and groups who may be able to assist us in finding ‘lost’ brothers.
  • Develop and manage a national alumni Lifetime Membership Program.
  • Ensures that established procedures for joining are clear, concise and efficient. Identifies and utilizes technology to help streamline and support the membership onboarding process.
  • Manages and promotes membership through non-member and prospective member activities, in coordination with Operations and Communications.
  • Helps identify and define membership offerings to meet market demands.
  • Supports regional retention programs to help existing chapters thrive and grow.
  • Follows-up on marketing efforts, referrals, leads from staff, etc.
  • Supports the development and production of applicable membership marketing collateral.
  • Tracks the success and overall performance of all membership activities. Develops reports for staff and board and undertakes special projects as applicable to monitor membership growth.
  • Attends management and staff meetings and works across functional areas to develop solutions and achieve results.
  • Develops and adheres to a departmental budget.
  • Participates in professional development activities to identify and implement industry best practices.

Deputy Expansion Officer – Reporting to the Expansion Officer, this self-motivated P/R will also work with Membership and Operations to assist in growing new chapters in geographically defined regions within or across states, to facilitate interaction, participation, and social opportunities by Brothers across the country.  This officer:

  • Analyzes the current membership for potential clusters to form chapters
  • Facilitates the activation of new chapters, and puts together initial issue
  • Collects chapter reports

OPERATIONS

Director of Operations – Reporting to the V.P.- Operations & Staff, this P/R exercises delegated authority to oversee the overall planning, direction, and timely execution of operations, working with PRG and NSPRHQ, and serves as POC for operations on national events.  These functions include development, assignment of goals and objectives for staff members and subordinate member organizations. Approves multiyear and longer range work plans in support of the NSPRAA long term goals.  Evaluates the effectiveness of operations in terms of mission accomplishment, quality and quantity standards, procedural, policy and regulatory compliance, and technical competence.  Establishes a working relationship with members of the Pershing Rifle Group to advance the vision of the Pershing Family.  Apply by sending email with qualifications to nspraa@pershingriflesalumni.org

Key Tasks

– Assists the NSPRAA Directorates and offices in the planning and administration of specialized program.

– Serves as the NSPRAA focal point for planning, developing and executing strategies, conducting future operations, and training.

– Provides oversight and directs staff support to emerging critical requirements impacting organizational mission.

– Interprets policies based on regulations, management principles, and ethics governing the conduct of work.

– Develops and establishes short and long-range plans and milestones in response to the needs and priorities of the NSPRAA members-at-large.

– Ensures effective integration of plans and programs, encompassing a wide range of information management and resource disciplines.

– Set priorities, assign work and establish schedules for work completion while making decisions on work problems presented by subordinate supervisors.

– Assures timely performance and reviews work completed by subordinates ensuring quality standards are met.

– Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Deputy Operations Officer  – Reporting to the Operations Officer, this P/R assists the Operations Officer in all operational issues and often acts as the on-site coordinator to procure supplies for NATCON or having such supplies delivered. Volunteer Coordinator – Reporting to the V.P.- Operations & Staff, this P/R works with the staff to identify vacancies which need filling on the staff, as well as volunteers for positions that are needed for national and other events (NATCON, Drill Meets, Etc). The volunteer coordinator:

  • Assists with writing job descriptions,
  • Plans how and where to recruit volunteers and posting adverts
  • Completes any relevant checks(like a police check or working with children check)
  • Plans for volunteer retention and replacement
  • Assists in the Development of policies and procedures as they regard volunteers
  • Develops the orientation kit, volunteer handbook or introductory programs as needed, and Evaluates those products
  • Presents or managing the orientation for all new starters, whether online (video/phone) or in person
  • Facilitates or Conducts performance review or evaluation
  • Matches the skills, experiences and expectations of volunteers to available positions.
  • Drives our volunteer management program and provides ongoing support to volunteers.
  • Develops ways to recognize and reward volunteer efforts, and Promotes the recognition program
  • Manages volunteer communications such as social functions, newsletter input or social media posts for the communications officer.
  • Plans and sets goals, Rostering and organizing volunteers
  • Communicates with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Resolves conflictor manages the grievance process.

Social Media Coordinator – Reporting to the Communications Officer, this self-motivated P/R will create and maintain a strong online presence for NSPRAA, implementing online marketing strategies through social media accounts.  They will:

  • Create engaging text, image and video content for multiple social media platforms, and determine which new platforms to engage
  • Design posts to sustain readers’ curiosity and create buzz around new products
  • Measure web traffic and monitor SEO with PRG web teams
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in all social platforms ensuring maximum effectiveness
  • Train co-workers to use social media in a cohesive and beneficial way
  • Facilitate online conversations and respond to queries
  • Report on online reviews and feedback
  • Develop an optimal posting schedule, considering web traffic and engagement metrics
  • Oversee social media accounts’ layout
  • Suggest new ways to attract prospective members, like promotions and competitions

Photography & Video Team Member – Reporting to the Communications Officer, this P/R has his own camera equipment, a love for photography, and can work with members of the team to capture images and video content to assist in the deployment of updates, website and marketing materials. SERVICE

National Service Director – Reporting to the V.P. Operations & Staff, this P/R is responsible for the identification, development and communication of National level partnerships with service programs and charitable causes that local alumni chapters and at-large members can support via participation in activities, partnerships and overall awareness. Vice Presidents

V.P.- Staff & Operations – Reporting to the President, this self motivated P/R Serves as the Vice President of Operations and Staff for the National Society of Pershing Rifles Alumni Association (NSPRAA).  Functions as an executive level manager, staff assistant, and primary advisor to the NSPRAA President.  The principal staff member for all matters concerning operations, communication, expansion and service.  Responsibilities include developing procedures and issuing guidance while working across the staff to ensure policy compliance and successful program completion. Performs continuous review and evaluation of current operations, provides guidance to team members for future operations,  and provide recommendations to the NSPRAA budget. Focuses on strategic planning and goal-setting, and directing the operations of the Alumni in support of its goals, the goals of the PRG, and in support of Undergraduate operations.

Major Duties:

  • Manages and directs the operational and strategic activities of the NSPRAA to support near, mid, and long range strategies relative to mission needs and member support.
  • Providing broad guidance, direction, and personnel management of the staff through subordinate Directors.
  •  Represents the NSPRAA in a various functions such as NATCON Planning Group
  •  Initiates and participates in the review of organizational structuring of staff positions to achieve optimum efficiency and economical use of assigned personnel, property and funds.
  •  Manages the development and implementation of policies and procedures consistent with The Pershing Rifle Group.
  • Strategic planning and execution to enhance productivity and efficiency throughout the Fraternity’s operations.
  • Provides technical advice and guidance to subordinates relative to operations, communication, expansion, and service.
  • Proactively work with executive team and individual department heads to ensure that operational priorities are aligned with direction, providing solutions and support.
  •  Directs and provides leadership to subordinates to ensure that work planning, production, quality of work, observance of regulatory criteria, and other such matters are accomplished as required.
  • Directs changes in policy and programs to meet obligations as needed.
  • Lead the development and implementation of policies, plans and practices regarding the Fraternity and authorizes the implementation of strategy and policies.
  • Recommends operational budgetary requirements taking into consideration current and anticipated needs of various programs.
  • Participate in formulating and administering policies, procedures, and programs, developing long range goals and objectives, including the direction, focus, and visualization of activities in responsible departments to further the overall progressive goals and objectives, as well as monitoring their progress.
  • Maintains staff morale and encourages staff development.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 VP ADMIN & Finance – Oversees the section that coordinates administrative actions, the collection of dues, manages the finances, and facilitates procurement of resources needed for operations.
