About the Committee:
The NSPRAA Bereavement committee embodies an expression of sympathy from your Fraternal Society, when there has been the death of a Brother, or a death in their immediate family. This committee attempts to provide support and assistance to the family, and to the AA unit who is suffering from the loss of a loved one.
This support does not have to come solely from committee members; as those in our Pershing Family who are close to the bereaved may also be called upon to help. The type of committee support and
assistance varies from case to case.
To this end, the Bereavement Committee was created, with the purpose of:
- Directly expressing the Fraternity’s sympathy by offering support at the time of death of a Brother, or their family member. This service is extended to all members of the Fraternal Society, in the event of the death.
- Providing the AA Unit or Family with Fraternal Items of support and recognition for the grieving Family, and our Brothers
- Facilitating Notification
- The committee also may offer educational programs on topics related to death and dying,
or materials to help with planning final arrangements, as it sees the need.
